Letter Climb

Solve each growing rack, including the final eight-letter word.

How to play

  1. Begin with three tiles. Type or tap a word using every current tile exactly once, including repeated letters, then use Enter or press the Enter key.
  2. Any matching word in this game’s common-English dictionary is accepted; you do not have to guess one specific anagram.
  3. Each accepted word adds one fixed letter to the rack. The new tile is highlighted and your previous words appear under Your climb. Choosing another valid anagram does not change the letter sequence.
  4. Delete removes the last letter; Clear empties your entry; Undo reverses your last edit. These controls do not return to an earlier rack. Shuffle only rearranges the current tiles.
  5. Continue through the shown lengths and submit a valid eight-letter word to finish. Receiving eight tiles alone does not complete the climb; completing all six racks earns 1,000 points.

Head-to-head rules

Solve each growing rack from three to eight letters before your opponent. Both players get the same puzzle and start together, with 5 minutes to finish. Completion time decides the match; fewer moves or a higher solo score do not beat an earlier correct finish. Finishes within 0.1 seconds draw. If neither player finishes before time runs out, the match is a draw.

Your moves and answers stay private. Leaving through the game controls forfeits the match; closing the page does not pause its clock.

Real-player matches update this game's own Elo rating. Daily and practice results keep their separate progress and never change Elo.
