Spelling Hive

Build enough accepted words to reach the point goal shown.

How to play

  1. Use only the seven displayed letters to make words of at least four letters. Every word must include the highlighted center letter; letters may repeat.
  2. Type or tap the letter tiles, then use Submit word or press Enter. Delete removes the last typed letter; Clear empties your entry. Shuffle letters rearranges the outer letters while keeping the required center fixed.
  3. Only words in this hive’s common-English list count, including familiar plurals and verb forms. Proper names and abbreviations are excluded. Each different word earns points once; unsupported words and repeated answers add no points.
  4. Four-letter words earn 1 point. Longer words earn their letter count. A word containing all seven different letters earns 7 extra points.
  5. Accepted words appear in your word list. Reach or pass the shown point goal to complete the hive; finding every possible word is not required.

Head-to-head rules

Reach the shared word-point goal before your opponent. Both players get the same puzzle and start together, with 3 minutes to finish. Completion time decides the match; fewer moves or a higher solo score do not beat an earlier correct finish. Finishes within 0.1 seconds draw. If neither player finishes before time runs out, the match is a draw.

Your moves and answers stay private. Leaving through the game controls forfeits the match; closing the page does not pause its clock.

Real-player matches update this game's own Elo rating. Daily and practice results keep their separate progress and never change Elo.
